HOPE

What is it? How can I find it? How do we share it?

We would see HOPE, generally as something we wish for or want to happen.

However, the Bible definition is the confident expectation in what God can do, not a future outcome.

We aren't hoping for something to be complete, we are instead 100% expecting it to be complete.

It is real, something we can cling to that is not out of our reach, like grasping onto a rope, knowing it will hold you.

What is this HOPE?

It is the HOPE of Good News that Jesus Christ, who is God, came to us as sinners, died on the cross for us and rose again from the dead 3 days later.  He returned to heaven, from where he will one day come back for those that follow him.

It is the HOPE of eternal life in heaven.

It is the HOPE of no longer being apart from God.

It is the HOPE of forgiveness of our sins.

It is the HOPE that Jesus Christ is the only way, not because of what we have done but because of what he has done.

H = Yellow for Heaven, place of purity and perfection where God is.

O = Black for our sin that keeps us apart from God.

P = Red for Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sin and rose again 3 days later.

E = White for forgiveness and purity when we trust in Jesus alone for our salvation from sin.

Share the HOPE we have in = Green for the things that helps us grow in our new life with God. Praying, reading the Bible, going to church and telling others.

Border = Blue for the committment/choice we each have to make personally to be followers of Jesus.  This is shown by our changed life.

If you have prayed the prayer on the right, or would like any further information about how to follow Jesus or how to share him with others. Please contact us on the details below.

Titus 3:3 -7

For in the past we were foolish, hard in heart, turned from the true way, servants of evil desires and pleasures, living in bad feeling and envy, hated and hating one another.

But when the mercy of God our Saviour, and his love to man was seen,
not by works of righteousness which we did ourselves, but in the measure of his mercy, he gave us salvation, through the washing of the new birth and the giving of new life in the Holy Spirit, which he gave us freely through Jesus Christ our Saviour; so that, having been given righteousness through grace, we might have a part in the heritage, the hope of eternal life.

If you would like this hope now it is simple...

Admit that you have sinned against God and others.

Be willing to turn from that sin.

Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you and rose again.

Trust in Jesus alone to forgive you of your sin.

Commit your life to follow him.

You can do this by praying (talking to God). This is a serious, life changing decision not to be taken lightly.

Below is a suggested prayer:

Lord Jesus,

I know that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness.  I believe that you died for my sins.  I want to turn from my sins.  I now ask you to be my Lord and Saviour.  I want to trust and follow you from now on.  In Jesus' name, Amen.
